Terms of Service | Ranex

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Ranex ("Service", "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Ranex provides AI governance tools for developers, including:

Real-time code validation and security scanning
SAST (Static Application Security Testing) with 30+ patterns
MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools for AI coding assistants
ARBITER test validation system
Drift detection and compliance monitoring
RAG-based governance and persona management

3. Editions and Licensing

3.1 Community Edition (Free)

Licensed under Apache 2.0. Open source and free for personal and commercial use. Includes 10 MCP tools, 8 CLI commands, and 7 SAST patterns.

3.2 Team Edition (Paid)

Subscription-based license at $25/user/month. Includes all Community features plus 130+ additional features. Requires valid payment and active subscription.

3.3 Enterprise Edition (Paid)

Custom licensing and pricing. Includes on-premise deployment, SSO, cryptographic audit trails, and 24/7 support. Contact sales for details.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation: You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

4.2 Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4.3 Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service (except Community Edition under Apache 2.0)
Use the Service to transmit malware, viruses, or malicious code
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
Use the Service to scan code you do not have permission to access

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Community Edition: Licensed under Apache License 2.0. Source code available at GitHub.

6.3 Your Code: You retain all rights to code you scan with Ranex. We do not claim ownership of your code.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Subscription Fees: Team Edition is billed monthly at $25/user/month. Enterprise Edition pricing is custom.

7.2 Payment Processing: Payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors.

7.3 Refunds: 14-day money-back guarantee for Team Edition. Contact support@ranex.email for refund requests.

7.4 Price Changes: We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers are grandfathered at their current rate for the duration of their subscription term.

8. Data and Privacy

8.1 Code Scanning: Community Edition runs entirely locally. Your code never leaves your machine.

8.2 Team Edition: Scan results and metadata may be stored in the cloud for collaboration features. Code itself is not stored.

8.3 Enterprise Edition: On-premise deployment available. You control all data storage.

9. Service Level Agreement (SLA)

9.1 Community Edition: Provided "as is" with no SLA or uptime guarantees.

9.2 Team Edition: 99% uptime SLA for cloud services. Excludes scheduled maintenance.

9.3 Enterprise Edition: 99.9% uptime SLA with 24/7 support and priority incident response.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 No Warranty: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

10.2 Security Scanning Limitations: Ranex is a tool to assist with security analysis. It does not guarantee detection of all vulnerabilities. You are responsible for your code's security.

10.3 AI Governance: Ranex provides guardrails for AI coding assistants but does not control the AI models themselves. We are not responsible for AI-generated code.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RANEX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM: (A) YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF OUR SERVERS AND/OR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION STORED THEREIN; (C) ANY BUGS, VIRUSES, OR OTHER HARMFUL CODE THAT MAY BE TRANSMITTED TO OR THROUGH OUR SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ranex and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

13.1 By You: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of your billing period.

13.2 By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms.

13.3 Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data may be deleted after 30 days.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore.
